ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER OPENING
The ideal candidate for this hands-on position must be ready to lead by example, should be enthusiastic, well organized and have an understanding of the culture of hospitality. In addition to their duties on the floor, this person would assist with private event operations, social media and administrative duties.
Candidates must have the ability to work flexible hours including days, nights and weekends. A minimum of 2 years of hospitality management experience is preferred, but not required.
This Role includes:
• Dining Room Floor Management
o Assist in opening and closing procedures including running daily reports
o Creating sections, maintaining reservations through Opentable, and strategically maximizing covers
o Assist in training FOH staff and continuing staff education
o Sufficiently operate the Posi system (ie add new menu items, adjust checks/voids and troubleshoot any issues)
o Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of restaurant & private event space area
o “Touches” tables; on the floor during busy service times to ensure smooth service as well as build on guest relations. Lead by example. Exceed guests expectations.
o Report and communicate day-to-day matters regarding events to the Director of Private Events and all other matters to the Senior Restaurant Manager.
• Private Events
o Maintaining the set-up and execution of private events
o Can act as the day of contact with the client on site for private events
o Communicate information to kitchen and event servers during a private event
o Ensure event checks are opened and closed properly to POS
• Social Media/Admin Duties
o Post on Catalyst’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts
o Check info@catalystrestaurant email
o Reproduce and send guest’s receipt requests
o Check voicemails and future reservation notes
o Processing new employee hires in Posi system
o Creating newsletters and promoting special events with senior restaurant manager and Director of Private Events.
